FAO Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific
Anthony Bennett is currently leading the Food Systems (post production) work at the FAO Regional Office of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. He has over 20 years of international experience in food industry/food systems development and has worked extensively for FAO in Asia, Africa, the Near East and the Caribbean. He has also worked for the International Fund for Agriculture Development.
While based at FAO HQ from 2010 to 2016, he led the work on food processing, value addition and food loss and waste. This included the development of a broad range of partnerships including with public, private and development partners and banks around this issue. He currently manages an expanding portfolio of development projects in the Asia- Pacific regional valued as C. US$70 million.
His core interests are in sustainable and inclusive food systems development, food value addition and processing, food loss and waste and smallholder value chain development.
